 Q: What is your job as part of the Wellness Team at Waukee Wellness?
A: I am a Chiropractic Assistant. I am the first one to meet and greet patients and let them know that however their day is going outside of the office, we are going to make their day become an awesome one!
I answer your phone calls about adjustments, insurance policies, and anything else happening at Waukee Wellness.  

I am also the newest trainer at Waukee Wellness! I have a degree in Exercise Science from Simpson College and am also a personal trainer. Check out the fitness link above to find out about my personal training services and classes too! 

Q: What is your favorite healthy living tip?

A: A recent discovery of mine is the art of writing in a journal. I have found that it releases so much stress and helps me keep on track. I read that if you write down your daily goals and then at the end of the day write down all the ways that you helped to achieve that goal that day, you will become more conscious of whether you are getting closer or further away from your goal. It is a common goal for the team at Waukee Wellness to want to help people so everyday I write down what I had done that day to make someone elses' day better. That way, I can ensure having a more productive day the next day and over time the stress levels decrease.

Q: What is something you enjoy doing in Des Moines on the weekends?

A: It's not hard to find fun activities in DSM during the summer. Mini Golf at West Grand and Blank Park Zoo. Walking around downtown, Greys Lake or just on a trail. My fiance and I love spending time with family and friends, so we often get together at a park and play some pick-up basketball. I have recently learned to play tennis as well. Any way I can find another activity to challenge Austen and I is what we do :)

Q: What is your job as part of the Wellness Team at Waukee Wellness?

My job at Waukee Wellness and Chiropractic is to greet the patients as they come in and encourage them to come back as often as they need. I answer the telephone, schedule appointments, and take payments. I can also do a variety of different things around the office if needed.

Q: What is your favorite healthy living tip? 

My favorite healthy living tip is that nothing is extremely bad for you if you have everything in moderation. It is ok to have an ice cream cone every so often as long as it's not every day and not a huge big one. Also, there is always time to do a little stretching and if you can spend 20-30 minutes watching a TV show then why not do it while walking on a treadmill or while lifting free weights?

Q: What is something you enjoy doing in Des Moines on the weekends?

Somethings I really enjoy are going shopping, going to see movies, going on long walks, mini golfing and go kart riding. I just recently saw my first rodeo and I really enjoyed that and plan on going to many more. Most of all I truly enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Q: What is your job as part of the Wellness Team at Waukee Wellness?
A: As the Wellness Coordinator for the office, my job is to help patients bridge their current lifestyles to healthier living. My main goal is to plan education opportunities through events, marketing, and patient relations both in the office, the Des Moines area, and on th e World Wide Web!

Q: What is your favorite healthy living tip?
A: PLAY!!  I know that eating right and exercising is very important, but doing activities with my family are ways I can enjoy both. We love visiting our local pools and parks!

Q: What is something you enjoy doing in Des Moines Area on the weekends?

A: Outside: The Waukee, Valley Junction, and Downtown Farmers Markets.  Inside: I love playing the piano so I love going to dueling pianos at Blue Moon in West Glen.  I secretly wish I could be one of those piano players!
